'Iris' Win Humanitas Prize
(Source: UPI) - "Iris," a movie about an enduring love that survives Alzheimer's disease, and the TV drama "West Wing" took the top two honors at the Humanitas Prize 28th Annual Awards Presentation.


Cardiovascular Disease Ups Dementia Risk
(Source: UPI) - Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine report that cardiovascular disease patients have an increased risk of dementia - including Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia - caused by insufficient blood flow to the brain.


UK Web Site Offers Alzheimer's Information and Advice
Source: Alzheimer's Society) - The UK's Alzheimer's Society has launched a new website where people with dementia and their caregivers can find: facts and advice about Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia, an online shop with dementia-related publications and resources. The web site also allows people to find local services from more than 260 branches across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.


Profiles of Neurodegenerative Dementias
